'Your peace of the countryside'

Beautifully situated in a private valley deep in the heart of the Exmoor National Park the cottages at Cutthorne have 14th century origins and have been carefully converted from the original stone outbuildings. They are offered as private suites for bed and breakfast or dinner bed and breakfast with meals in the main house or for self catering. Both are furnished and equipped in keeping with the period of the property, with antiqued pine in the bedrooms and plenty of extra touches to make you feel at home.

If you are looking for peace and quiet in the middle of some of the most beautiful countryside in England, then this is the place for you!

The fitted kitchens have microwaves, gas cookers and fridges. The bathrooms have bath and shower and there is full central heating in both cottages which can be used whenever needed. The cosy lounges have colour televisions and big comfy chairs.

Breakfasts and dinners are available in the fully licenced dining room in the main house.

Wonderful Spring Water.

Linen for the beds and all towels are included. Electricity and heating included.

Full laundry service. Well behaved dogs and children welcome. Non smoking.

Stabling and grazing for horses D.I.Y.

The Ballroom

The Ballroom was once used for hunt balls and retains all the original character, including a solid oak floor. It is found on the top floor of the original C17th threshing barn. There is a large open fireplace in the lounge and French doors open from the dining hall to a private patio and fields beyond. It sleeps up to four, in one double and one twin room. The lounge and bedrooms have beautiful views down our secret valley.

It was so kind of you to let us use the facilities of the Ballroom as our base for our recent Exmoor holiday. The location of Cutthorne was incredibly beautiful and the memories will cheer me for many a day.

The Shippon

The Shippon was formerly a cowshed and is approached from the cobbled yard by a rustic stone staircase. Entrance is through a stable door to an oak fitted kitchen and cottage style lounge/diner with picture window onto the ornamental duck pond. The ceilings are heavily beamed throughout and there is an attractive stove to sit by on those chillier evenings, as well as full central heating. There is a bathroom with shower off an inner hall and two bedrooms, one double and one twin, sleeping up to four.
